Recognize habitual mental patterns.
Cease to identify with either thought or emotion.
Instead of “I am frustrated,” say “I’m feeling frustrated.”
This makes thought or feeling an artifact of your emotional/mental process, not the identity of who you are.
When you no longer identify as either your thoughts or emotions they surrender their control over you.
You practice recognizing and becoming still.
Becoming still, you consciously direct your internal states towards improvement of yourself and your world.
